LONDON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- A British company that creates products for poultry kept as pets is selling reflective bibs to help chickens and roosters safely cross roads.

Omlet director Johannes Paul said the High Vis Chicken Jackets, which come in bright pink and bright yellow, are designed to keep pet chickens and roosters from being struck by motorists while crossing roads at night, The Mirror reported Monday.

"We had people inquiring about this kind of thing so decided to look into it," director Johannes Paul said.

"Most people who have chickens as pets will have them out and about and we do hear about chickens who do cross the road," Paul said. "If you imagine you are in a built-up area and your chicken gets under the fence, they don't care if there is a road there. They just go straight across it."

The company said the jackets can also serve the purpose of keeping hens warm after molting and "protecting their modesty."
