Giant Whether Balloon If the question is whether to tie a bunch of these giant weather balloons to a lawn chair, the answer is no. (They burst at about 82,000 feet anyway.) Besides, this is a true weather balloon, with plenty of fun, nonfatal uses.
The cream-colored latex balloon is approx 40" dia when flaccid, you should pardon the expression, but has an 8-foot dia when inflated. The neck is 9" long x 1" dia.
Scientists, meteorologists, inventors, teachers and the imaginative filmmaker are warned to launch the balloon carefully. The material is delicate and not made to survive brushes with pavement, pine branches, or clumsy physics students.

Customers are mixed about the quality of the product. Some mention it's an excellent product, while others say it didn't even hold air, had a hole in it, and blew up before they could use it for the event. Some say it came with pinholes.
I am the president of a technology club. We used this weather balloon for one of our research projects. During our project, we aimed to get some footage of near-space (yes, like many other people too). We filled with balloon with two tanks of helium and launched it carrying 2 HD camcorders, an Arduino with a servo, and an Android phone (for GPS). This was about 7 pounds including the parachute.
I was very impressed about the size of this balloon, the tolerance that it withheld before it exploded, and the durability. The balloon ascended into an altitude of 6000+ within 12 minutes and managed to go further (while our equipment was set to be released from the balloon at that height).
Honestly, this balloon brings back so many memories. I consider it an ESSENTIAL for people who want to make their own weather balloon projects. It is perfect for students, professors, and all other people who wish to educate themselves in this aspect of science and physics.
Of course, you can you it for parties too, haha. To suffice, I would highly recommend this product to any friend who takes interest in near-space projects.
Ballon burst open with $100 dollars worth of helium. It is cheap and not durable or “professional”. Do not buy as it will cost you way more in helium than it’s worth!
Great value for the price. Been successfully using these to fly High Altitude Balloon (HAB) payloads to 80,000 feet and above. Have not had an "early burster" so far, and some of these balloons even survived overnight (inadvertently - that was not our intent!) at extreme cold (below -60 degrees F) above 75,000 feet. I'd say that is a ringing endorsement!
All I wanted was a big balloon. This was the cheapest one I could find. I filled it with air to a 6ft diameter to represent saturn in a Space Exhibit. It held up fine, even with air inside and paper saturn rings hanging off it. I filled it with a shop vac and held it shut losely with a rubber band so I can use it again. It was thin, but it held fine and the kids even played a little volley ball with it at the end.
I had one of these as a child that I bought from Edmund scientific. Remembering how cool it was to have a big balloon, I ordered one for my grandkids and we had fun blowing it up inside the house. I always try to Bring a fun little thing which has some scientific/educational value when we visit the grandkids. (I suggest the water filled 2 L bottle rocket). Anyway we blew this up, and it popped because somebody bumped into it with something sharp after about two hours. But it was fun and the grandkids enjoyed it.
