Finally decided to try Trader Joe’s infamous cookie butter. And safe to say it’ll be a staple in this house. Spread on toast, it makes an amazing treat. Or just eat it straight up with a spoon ;p ONE complaint and that’s how they sent it and this is a glass jar. I have great postman in my area. Glad this didn’t arrive shattered. (It is a pretty thick glass but STILL, not one packing peanut or those inflated bag thingys) come on Amazon >_<.

    I purchased this item for my father for Christmas. Unfortunately, the lid came cracked nearly in half. When I was unable to return the item, I looked back at the reviews. It seems that the people who received their product undamaged really enjoyed it, despite the hefty price. Many negative reviews, though (in fact, an overwhelming majority of the negative reviews), resulted from damaged products. My jar was flawlessly wrapped in bubble wrap, the box was undamaged, yet the lid was cracked almost as if it had been forced too firmly onto the jar. I would bet that it had been packaged in that condition from the seller. Even with the safety seal intact, I do not feel safe allowing my father to use the product, especially due to the current pandemic.

    This was an unfortunate circumstance, and it makes me wonder if the seller is taking primarily stock that has been marked as "damaged", either from the store or distributor, marking it up significantly in price, and selling it to unsuspecting people who cannot hold the seller accountable (due to the Amazon returns and exchanges policy. It all seems a bit fishy and a bit like a scam, especially since this product is much cheaper from the retailer. My recommendation is, if possible, plan a trip to Trader Joe's in person. Even if you have to travel a bit, they have other cool products and you could make a short vacation of it (obviously including it with other stops, because it would be a bit wacky to go on a vacation merely to a grocery store). This whole experience seemed a bit ridiculous, especially just for a jar of cookie butter that we now do not get to enjoy.
